KRISTIN DIABLE'S NEW SPEAKEASY RECORD

Last year, with an amazing team of friends and fans, we successfully raised the funds to write, record and demo 10 new songs as part of the pre-production process in preparation for the next official record. Now that we have the songs and ideas locked in, we're ready to record.

Over the past year, I've focused on creating environments that set the stage for an intimate musical experience in which the artist and audience are able to connect with the songs and each other in a truly meaningful way. With this next record, we intend to capture that essence and to compliment the success of our ongoing Speakeasy Songwriters’ Revue and the sold-out private Speakeasy House Concert Series we hosted at my home during French Quarter Fest and Jazz Fest. We are excited to welcome Grammy-nominated recording engineer Earl Scioneaux III of the world famous Preservation Hall to capture the magic for this new record.

I believe that music is all about the connection. The days of a traditional record label funding such projects are long over. With this new fan-funded model, the power and process stay in the hands of the people who care about it most: the fans who love the music and the musicians who love to make it. Makes sense, right?

We have set our goal at a level that will allow us to do the basic tracking, mixing and mastering as well as pressing the first cuts of the project. When we're finished making the record, I plan to hit the road, shopping the CD around with the intention of building an all-star team (Manager, Agent, Label, etc…) who can help bring our music to a global audience. So as you can see, this record will be an integral part of the future of Camp KD. The more funds we are able to raise through this campaign, the more capital we will have to back these ongoing efforts as well as to fund marketing, PR, new media, tour support and more…
